At Upstate FORT our adventure programs develop skills that lead to empowerment, and empathy that leads to connection to others in our family and community. Basically, they are about building confidence and friendships, along with the opportunity to learn an adventure sport or dive into creative play.
These workshops are one-hour long information blasts aimed at delivering a specific skill set or alternative perspective on parenting topics like communication, development, transitions, discipline, gender, and technology.
This is a casual group ride for girls with a wide range of skills. Emphasis on fun, friendship, and building confidence. Adult and teen mentors will lead and coach. We will take breaks and include options for different skill levels. Previous mountain biking experience is helpful, but not necessary. We love welcoming beginners!! Necessary equipment: Bike with 24″ or larger wheels and hand brakes in good working order. Helmet. Water bottle or hydration pack. Healthy, portable snack (bar, trail mix, etc.)
A series of open studio style creative opportunities for adults. Connection, creative play, social engagement, and introspection are all encouraged and supported in these lightly facilitated events. Materials are provided and space is limited. Beginning in January 2018.
